Yesterday mid afternoon I had a serious craving for something rich, dark and decadent but wasn’t going to dive into my daughter’s treat drawer;) so decided to have a go at making these raw brownie bites which i’ve wanted to for a while but haven’t gotten round to. They are seriously simple, and rich and dark and very satisfying especially if you’re craving something sweet. I used peanut butter which isn’t paleo but if you’re strictly following the paleo diet then you can replace this with almond butter or cashew butter.

 

ingredients

 

20 pitted dates

10 almonds

2 table spoons peanut butter

4 teaspoons pure cacao powder

2 teaspoons coconut oil

 

Method

 

Add all the ingredients to a food processor and pulse for a couple of seconds and then blend for approximately 20 seconds or until the mixture resembles bread crumbs.  Then simply roll into small balls and pat each other down so they are bite sized and coat with some cacao powder for that extra chocolatey hit. Or you could coat them with dry coconut or crushed almonds.

 

Enjoy! these stay out of the fridge for a week.

    What a brilliant and easy recipe. I love coconut so I’m going to try these with a bit of a heavy hand with the coconut! Thanks for sharing your yummy recipe.
